Treating Soft Tissue Discomfort with Massage and Chiropractic
Massage has long been the preferred method for healing stiffness and dull pain in muscles and soft tissue.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy manipulates the soft tissues of the body, and most recognizably is used to gain relief in taut bands of muscle fiber, but it also treats the areas including skin, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and membranes. Many varieties of massage exist to treat these specific areas as different amounts of pressure and localization have different effects on the underlying tissue.
Muscle fibers can become knotted from occupational stresses, over-use, or from the body's own reaction to straining against a source of pain. Further, massage can be used as a portion of the recovery from accidents involving trauma and injury. In either case, a massage therapist is working to alleviate pain, restore mobility, and enhance the body's natural healing abilities.
As with our chiropractic treatments, your massage therapy will be tailored to your individual needs. For some it's something as simple as relaxation, while others are on a program of rehabilitation from an injury; whichever you situation might be, please contact us to schedule an appointment or consultation today.
