Treating Neck Pain
The neck is a sensitive region that is often an area injured because of it's vulnerable position.
Chiropractic Adjustments for the Cervical Vertebrae
Neck pain is probably the second most common condition treated by a chiropractor. Due to the neck's vulnerability it is especially critical--as with all treatment--for your chiropractor to be well informed regarding your medical history, including ongoing medical conditions, current medications, traumatic/surgical history, and lifestyle factors. When an injury occurs the body releases chemicals that cause inflammation. Inflammation causes discomfort and with the neck often leads to less movement. Adjustments to the neck can restore mobility, alleviate pain, and reduce inflammation. Below is a sample of two different types of cervical adjustments. However, adjustments are not always the correct way to treat a neck problem. Your chiropractor can determine what is best for your case.
Our goal is to treat you and then offer rehabilitation so your problem does not become a chronic situation. An exercise program may also prove helpful for chronic neck pain sufferers, aiding in warding off any recurring symptoms. Gentle, non-invasive techniques can work exceptionally well in a region that is neighbor to the brain stem and root of the central nervous system.
